Club 95 is a supper club located in Hixton, WI just off I-94, 10 miles from Black River Falls.
Club 95 was established in 1962 by Tony and Marian Kirschner. It was then a small bar that had five tables in it for dining. In 1970, a dining room was added which is still used during the week and for small banquets on the weekends. Then in 1974, a small banquet area was added to accommodate parties.
In 1976, Steve Kirschner, son of Tony and Marian, bought half of Club 95. In 1988, Steve bought the other half from his parents and added a large banquet area for weddings and other functions. After several years of successful banquet business, an addition was again added to the banquet area in 1998.
Over the years, Steve and his wife Beverly (pictured here on a 2004 trip to Costa Rica) had built Club 95 into one of the premier supper clubs in the Jackson County area. Their reputation for quality food and great service grew the business over Steve’s 28 years at the helm of Club 95.
In 2002, Steve decided to put Club 95 up for sale as he was looking to finish his working years in a less hectic lifestyle. In August 2004, we (Jerel and Jennifer Gunning) became the new owners. Our main goal was and will continue to be maintain the quality and consistency that has always been the cornerstone of Club 95.
We moved to the Hixton area from Minneapolis, Minnesota. I had always lived in Minneapolis while Jennifer grew up in the Sparta/Black River Falls area. Both of us have been in the restaurant business for 20+ years. Both of us bring many years of customer service to Club 95.
Steve and Beverly Kirschner still live across the street from Club 95 and Steve still does his “quality checks” of the food several times a week. They both still help out from time to time so you might see the “old owners” (“former owners” for Bev!) and the new owners working side by side to continue the Club 95 tradition.
Stop by and introduce yourself sometime. – Jerel Gunning
